Based on the information briefed and discussed we propose to use Joomla’s content management structure. This means that the database content would be archived in to Sections, Categories and Items. By arranging the content in the following way it will provide the site administrator with a logic and user-friendly system for managing content.

The system would require that all database content be populate from the backend and would proved the administrator with the added functionality to edit content from the front-end (website faces).

In making the content display athletically pleasing for the site user we will use a Dell like menu structure (please see http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs).

The proposal needs that a software extension for Joomla be developed that will reference the database and display the selected content. Although this has not been discussed we presume the content once selected will be displayed below the Dell like menu system.

The extension will also take advantage of Joomla ability to print, PDF and e-mail written content from the selected page. We estimate the above works will take 3 days to develop and set-up.
  • Setup content structure in Joomla (Sections, Categories and Items)
  • Develop a java-script dell like box navigation
